Meeting Reflection

Meeting Reflection

Our meeting was held on the 31th of October 2012 at ADMC. The meeting started at 2:40 PM and finished at 3:00 PM. We supposed to start at 2:30 but one of group member joined the meeting lately. Our group including 4 students. Ahmad Al Suwaidi was the chair or the leader of the group, Faisal Al Hosani and Khamis were the participants and I was the minute's taker. Our topic was about Emiratization (finding jobs for students).

As mentioned above, Ahmad introduced the topic about the Emiratization. To start this meeting, we looked first at the reasons or the problems of why students can't find jobs when they graduate from college or high school. Faisal started the discussion by the first issue which is some companies want students with high certification such as Bachelor or above. The second issue is that some student's don't want to continue studying, especially those whom left the middle school and saying "I will find a job". Khamis discussed the third issue where students drop from the college when they join a program that doesn’t fit with their experience. For example, a student join engineering program while he/she don't know math. We looked for some solutions to reduce this issue. The most important point is that universities and colleges should make more orientations to encourage the students to look for a job rather than waiting for the job to come to them.

To sum up, getting a job is not as easy as it was been years ago. I recommend that student's should take an opportunity when they receive a job invitation.
